Dermal Fillers in Houston

Dermal fillers are the workhorses of in-office aesthetic medicine. They restore volume where you have lost it, smooth lines that have become static, and re-balance proportion across the face. At MV I carry the Restylane and Evolysse families - two product lines with different strengths - so I can pick the right filler for the area and the patient rather than treating everything with one brand.

This page is an overview. Each filler product has its own deeper page linked at the bottom.

What it treats

  • Lips that have lost volume or definition
  • Cheek and mid-face flattening with age
  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
  • Marionette lines (mouth to chin)
  • Tear troughs and under-eye hollows (specific products only)
  • Chin projection and jawline definition
  • Pre-jowl hollows that flatten the lower face

Products used in this treatment: Restylane family (Kysse, Lyft, Defyne, Refyne, Eyelight, Contour, original), Evolysse Form and Smooth (Cold-X technology from Evolus)

How I think about filler in 2026

The filler conversation has changed in the last few years. We have better products now, and we also have more patients who have been over-treated elsewhere and want to scale back. My approach is conservative: less product, placed more thoughtfully, with the goal of looking like a better version of yourself rather than like someone who has had filler.

The other piece is product matching. Lips need a filler engineered for motion. Cheeks need a filler with lift. Tear troughs need a filler made specifically for thin skin. One-size-fits-all fillers compromise on all of these.

The product lines I use and why

Restylane (Galderma) - The oldest HA filler family on the U.S. market and one of the most clinically studied. Strong in lips (Kysse), tear troughs (Eyelight), and structural cheek work (Lyft). The family includes seven distinct formulas, each engineered for a specific tissue behavior.

Evolysse (Evolus) - The newest family in my cabinet, FDA-approved in 2024. Made with cold-temperature manufacturing (Cold-X technology) that preserves longer HA chains. The result is a softer, more pliable feel in tissue. Strong for nasolabial folds (Smooth) and structural lift (Form).

What to expect at any filler appointment

Plan on 45 to 75 minutes total, depending on how many areas. We spend the first 15 minutes talking through what you want and what is realistic. The injection itself is 20 to 30 minutes. Topical numbing plus the lidocaine in the filler products keeps most patients comfortable.

Bruising and swelling are normal for 3 to 7 days. I see you back at two weeks to assess the settled result and add small touches if needed.

Common questions about dermal fillers in houston

How long do fillers last?
Depends on the product and the area. Lips with Restylane Kysse: 6 to 9 months. Cheeks with Lyft or Evolysse Form: 12 to 18 months. Tear troughs: 9 to 12 months. We will set a realistic expectation for your specific plan at consultation.
Can fillers be dissolved?
Yes. All HA fillers in this family can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed. This is one of the reasons HA fillers remain the safest category.
Will I look fake?
Not with conservative dosing and proper product selection. Looking "fake" is usually a result of too much product or wrong product for the area. We pick small starting doses and build only if the assessment at two weeks calls for more.
How much filler do I need?
Depends on the area. A first lip treatment is usually half a syringe to one syringe. A first cheek treatment may be two syringes. We tailor at consult and can stage across visits if you prefer.
Restylane or Evolysse?
Both. For lips I usually reach for Restylane Kysse. For nasolabial folds I usually reach for Evolysse Smooth. For cheeks it depends on what we want - Restylane Lyft for structural lift, Evolysse Form for softer integration. I do not have a "house" filler that I push for every area.
