Evolysse in Houston

Most HA fillers on the market are crosslinked using heat. Heat works, but it tends to fragment the HA chains and produce a gel that is more rigid than natural tissue. The Cold-X process Evolus uses keeps the manufacturing temperature near freezing, which preserves longer HA chains and produces a gel that behaves more like the HA your body already makes.

The clinical implication, in my hands so far: smoother integration, less of the slightly firm-to-the-touch quality some patients dislike about older HA fillers, and a more natural drape over the underlying anatomy. Bruising and swelling are comparable to other fillers in the class.

Evolysse comes in two formulations and I pick between them based on what we are treating.

Evolysse Form is the more structural of the two. The gel has more lifting capacity, so I reach for Form when we are restoring volume in the cheek, supporting the jawline, or building chin projection. It holds its shape under the tension of surrounding tissue without looking stiff.

Evolysse Smooth is softer and more pliable. I use it for nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and the kind of fine peri-oral work where you want the filler to disappear into the skin rather than sit underneath it. Smooth is the one I use most for patients in their thirties and forties who want a refresh without anyone being able to tell.

A first Evolysse appointment with me runs about 60 to 75 minutes. We talk for the first 15 of those. I want to understand what you are seeing in the mirror, what you have done before, what you liked and did not like, and what you are actually trying to fix. Most filler regrets I see in consultation are the result of skipping that conversation.

The injection itself takes 20 to 30 minutes, depending on how many areas we are working on and how much product we agreed to. I use a numbing cream beforehand and the Evolysse product itself contains lidocaine, which makes a real difference in comfort. Most patients describe the procedure as pressure rather than pain.

Afterward you can drive yourself home, you can go back to work the same afternoon, and you can be in public the next day. Some swelling and the occasional bruise are normal for the first three to five days.

In the pivotal trial Evolus reported, the majority of patients still had visible benefit at 12 months. That is consistent with what I see in practice, though longevity varies with metabolism, the area treated, and how much product was used. Treated cheeks tend to last longer than treated lips. Patients who exercise heavily metabolize all HA fillers a little faster.

Most of my Evolysse patients schedule a maintenance touch-up somewhere between 9 and 14 months. A few go longer.

Evolysse is a good first-filler for someone who has been considering it for a while and wants the newest technology without the cost premium of premium surgical-grade brands. It is also a strong second-or-third filler for someone who has used Juvederm or Restylane and felt the result was a touch too firm.

I tend to steer patients elsewhere when:

• They want under-eye work specifically. The tear trough area has its own filler considerations, and Restylane Eyelight is often a better choice there.
• They are looking for a biostimulator effect (gradual collagen building over months). That is a Sculptra or Renuva conversation, not a filler conversation.
• They have had a granuloma or filler hypersensitivity before. We need to talk through that before any new product goes in.
• They are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Evolysse is priced per syringe. Most patients use one to two syringes per area at a first appointment. I price it transparently at consultation rather than publishing a flat number, because what you need depends on where you are starting and what you want.

What I can say generally: Evolysse pricing in Houston is in line with other premium HA fillers. The longevity makes the per-month math reasonable even when the upfront cost feels like a lot.
