Considering biostimulators in houston? Start with a consultation.
Book Consultation(opens in a new tab)What it treats
- Mid-face and cheek volume loss
- Temple hollowing
- Pre-jowl softening of the lower face
- Hand volume loss (specifically Renuva)
- Jawline definition where bone-level support has thinned
- Patients who want to step back from synthetic-filler stacking
Products used in this treatment: Sculptra Aesthetic (Galderma), Renuva (MTF Biologics)
Sculptra: collagen stimulation
Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid. When I inject it, the synthetic scaffold triggers your fibroblasts to produce new collagen over the next three to six months. The volume that develops is collagen - your skin's own structural protein.
Best for: structural support in cheeks and temples, lower-face firming, jawline definition.
Renuva: fat regeneration
Renuva is processed adipose (fat) matrix from donor human tissue, with all cellular material removed. When I inject the scaffold, your own preadipocytes migrate in and rebuild fat tissue in the area. The volume that develops is your own fat.
Best for: hands (the most common use I see), temple hollows, pre-jowl hollows where fat specifically was lost, and patients who want to step back from synthetic filler.
Which one is right for you?
Honest answer: depends on the area and the look you want. For cheeks I more often reach for Sculptra because the collagen structure is what we are usually trying to restore. For hands I almost always reach for Renuva because the fat layer is what was lost. For temples either can work.
What both have in common is the timeline. Neither is an immediate treatment. You will not see the real result until months 3 to 6. Patients who do well with biostimulators are the ones who can wait.
